The Air Freight Forwarders Association of Malaysia (AFAM), a non-governmental organization formed since 1975 represents today the freight forwarding industry in liasion with all Government Authorities and Autonomous Bodies, private International organizations such as the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce (MICC), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Airlines, Airlines Ground Handling Agents, Shippers, etc

1. To promote and develop the Airfreight forwarding industry at all times
2. To uphold the standards and ethics of the airfreight forwarding industry
3. To promote the maintenance of ethical service rates for the betterment of the industry and to regularize standards and practices to be upheld by members
4. To promote co-operation and understanding among AFAM members
5. To promote fellowship among all airfreight forwarders, their staff, all shippers, consignees, relevant Government Authorities, Airlines, Airlines Ground Handling Agents and anyone related to the industry.

1. Liason with Government Departments and Agencies. AFAM is constantly dealing with the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of International Trade and Industries, Royal Malaysian Customs, KLIA Berhad and various other agencies to enhance cooperation and input between AFAM members and the related Governments' Department.

3. AFAM Training and Education Program. AKMAL is the Royal Customs & Excise College and AFAM is contributing via members in conducting courses pertaining to customs procedures.
